1. Get to know and determine the right firmware
Frequent flashing failures are usually caused by:- incompatibility between selected ROMs with Samsung type;
- inappropriate kernel version or model;
- improper firmware selection;
- and so forth.
Therefore, carefulness and carefulness is needed in choosing the firmware.
In addition, also pay attention to the advantages and disadvantages. To find out, try reading testimonials from people who have used it because each firmware usually has its own bugs (shortcomings).
Before flashing, first search for Stock ROM that matches your Samsung type. Don't look at the type but see the model number or product name. For example, Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) is SM-T285.
To find out the model number, you can look at the model number in Settings (if the HP is still on), on the back of the HP casing or under the battery.
or just searching on the internet for the name of your Samsung cellphone and find the model number.
you can also see on PRODUCT NAME while in Odin mode as follows ..
The firmware of Samsung consists of 2 types:
- One pack »only 1 file with the tar.md5 extension, generally used on older Samsung outputs;
- Full pack »consists of several files with the first name AP, CSC, CP, BL also has the extension tar.md5, used on the latest Samsung output;
A description of the full pack file:
- BL »bootloader file;
- AP »Android partition, the main operating system file from Samsung;
- CP »modem firmware file;
- CSC »Consumer software customization, partitions or additional files for each regional or cellular data.
One Pack firmware example:
full pack Firmware example:
If there is, use a full package. But if there is no type or Samsung you have not used the firmware with the fullpack type, so just use the one on the pack.
After getting the suitable firmware, identify the version of Odin that is suitable for your Samsung type.
Note:
- The above version of Odin3_v3.12.4 »generally for the latest Samsung users such as the Galaxy S9, S9 +, Note 8, Galaxy S8, S8 Plus; Whereas the version of
- Odin3_v3.11.1.zip and below »generally for older Samsung users with Lollipop ROM or Marshmallow
If it's one pack, there must be a PDA button or an AP in the Odin version that appears,So look for the version of Odin that has a PDA button.
Actually, you don't have to worry too much about the suitable version of Odin, basically, just try which version works, don't worry if the wrong choice will not cause damage (based on personal experience).
If you already understand, it's time to do flashing!
